Greg, what types of medical, learning, and developmental issues does Emil have with her “mild” autism? Is there anything truly “mild” about her autism, given that it’s not an “HFA/Asperger’s supergenius at Harvard or Microsoft” kind of autism? Does she/Weston have dietary restrictions, histories of digestive problems like I did? Does Emil have a safe haven for her and adult autism services in place? Group homes are VERY dangerous for autistic women, even “mildly” autistic women also suffer s-xual abuses, malnourishment, nutritional neglect, and even oftentimes r-pes in them. What types of autism schools/therapies did you send them to? Are people aware of the impacts and symptoms of “mild autism” that Emily has, a far cry from the “social awkward supergenius/Rain Man savant” mild autism stereotypes? How and what kind of exact symptoms did Emily have as she slowly regressed? What skills and abilities she lost? Was she a picky eater/extremely sensitive to stimuli and tastes/smells/noises/lights like I was? My childhood autism was profound/severe, not “mild” like Emily, so I’m very curious. “Emily’s Autism Story” should be a real PDF story, downloadable and free for everybody online. What academics and math she cannot do? I can’t do Algebra nor understand fiction very well.
